Shhhhhhhhh! Can you keep a secret? I hope so… because taking the steps we’re about to talk about WILL make you prepared. But it will also make you a TARGET! Now it’s not just the criminals and opportunistic looters you need to be concerned with… Imagine a highway packed with stalled cars who have run out of gas and here you come put-putting down the road with your vehicle and a full tank of gas. The fathers and mothers who are looking at their own desperate plight to safety will inherently look to ANYONE who can help them. They’ll begin by “asking” for you to take them with you or leave them some food… then they’ll beg… and if you don’t comply, they might then DEMAND! This may start out with just one or two desperate people hounding you… but can quickly grow into a mob who feel that it’s YOUR responsibility to share your stuff and help them out. Things can get ugly quick and you need to be prepared to deal with the violence that may ensue. Your best bet is to stay low – now and also during a crisis.
